    Waiting on a phone call….

So, I took the 5 hour drive from home to Houston to visit MD Anderson. We stayed the night in Houston and woke up early the next day and got to the hospital a whole hour early. I checked in, got my official MD Anderson patient card. This place is like its own city. So many volunteers, several cafes, a library. This place was HUGE and spanned several blocks, all connected by a sky bridge.

It was interesting to see my parents so concerned. On Monday morning we were having breakfast in the hospital and my dad asked me if I was getting nervous. I told him not really and he said, good we’re worrying enough for you.  They seemed pretty concerned, it was nice to see how much they cared about me.  I mean I know they care, but its not often you see your parents leaning in to hear everything that the doctor told you… word for word.

Anyway, so they did an exam and then sent me to get another ultrasound. They kept telling me because I was so young it was probably fibroadenoma and was probably benign. The radiologist said the same thing but said, “The only way to know for sure is to do a biopsy.” They did several core biopsies which means they injected a hollow needle to extract tissue samples. Its been pretty achey and sore since we left. They told me I’d have the results probably by Thursday (today) and by the latest Friday.

So here I am… my interview for today was rescheduled for two weeks from now. :/ Boo. It leaves me plenty of time; however, to wait by the phone.
