    Dear Previously Best Friend

So, as I mentioned about a week ago I took a big step and invited an old friend out to lunch. Lunch was awesome, we had tons of fun. We probably haven’t hung out (except one other lunch) in three years.

The other day I was going through a huge box I have will all my birthday cards, valentines, school dance pictures, presents and other keepsakes. I found tons of stuff from this friend. I took a HUGE step and I mean huge. I’m definitely a proud person and am pretty damn good at holding a grudge. And I still do not consider out falling out, my fault. I won’t go into the details, because I’m sure no one cares. But I took a huge step and said, you know… I’m sorry we ever fought. And she says….

    Thank you.

Thank you? Really? After 3 years of hardly talking you can’t bring yourself to say I’m sorry too?

I immediately regret apologizing, but the damage is done.

Me and my friend were talking about this song in the car one day… when she said this little piece of gold.

“I don’t know about you… but I never turn my swag off. Maybe it’s because she’s, you know, nine and she isn’t as advanced as me. But when I wake up in the morning, my swag is already on.”

I took a big step today, put away my pride and contacted a former best friend and asked her to lunch. I hope I don’t regret it.
